A Sledding We Will Go!

My snow warriors.
B sent Thing 2 on a short little slope all by her lonesome. She was so cute. Thing 1 was a good trooper, even with a few tumbles.

This winter has been very cold but we haven't had a lot of snow, at least not as much as these past two years. After one of the few big snow storms while the snow was still fresh and perfect for sledding, we took advantage of the opportunity. Actually, B said we were going and that I had to come along. When we got to the hill we were the ONLY ones there for about 30 minutes. Then another family arrived, but other than the two of us it was empty. Even I, who absolutely hates the cold, had lots of fun. I was so glad that I went.

Thing 2 rode down with B the majority of the time. She thought it was the most fun ever. Thing 2 is usually a mama's girl and will choose me over B every time. However, while sledding, she chooses B. Hands down he won every time. I loved watching them play together and listening to the girls squeal. There is nothing else like it.

Thing 2 is TWO!!

Aunt Linds with Thing 2  opening her gifts. She hit the jack pot in gifts. We always talk about celebrating her 6 month birthday mark. I wonder if we will ever do it.
Thing 1 is a very doting sister, always helping Thing 2. Sometimes more than Thing 2 wants.

My oh my how time flies! It seems like just yesterday that we brought home this sweet and mild mannered baby girl. Now we have this beautiful bubbly little girl who RUNS all over. She really doesn't like to walk. Watching her do it looks as if she is doing something very unnatural. I love watching her.
Since we were in the Burg for Christmas we were able to celebrate her birthday as well. It was fun having family there to celebrate with us. For her cake I did a Tigger cake. My mother-in-law had the best idea of coloring coconut for his fur and melting chocolate for his stripes. I used a Wilton cake pan and then frosted and decorated away. It is probably the best one I have done yet. I should find more cake pans so at least the shape starts out right.

FOURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

My parents got B and I a set of clubs for Christmas, I just didn't find out about mine until later that day. They were hidden back at home. B's mom also bought a set for Bob. So Christmas morning they went and hit a few balls out into the field across the street.
Then they went and found the balls.
Luckily, Linds got bright pink golf balls from Steve. It made it much easier for them to find them all.
I look forward to learning how to play and spending time golfing with B.

Christmas Morning 2009

Christmas morning.
The blankets I made for the girls and other fun things brought by Santa.

I love Christmas morning. I love getting to see the kids' faces as they see what Santa has brought, for me that is the best part of the entire morning. That first moment when they walk in and I see their eyes lite up and they are so excited that Santa came. This Christmas morning, Thing 1 sneaked up before I could get there and saw all the splendor and I missed it. It was terribly terribly disappointing. Luckily, the girls were still fine and it didn't hurt any of their fun. Next year though I will have to make sure it doesn't happen again...or else.

1, 2, 3, BLAST OFF

Thing 2 loves to fly, the higher the better.
She was a bit unsure at first but soon got the hang of it and enjoyed herself.
Here she is learning how to hang on.

I have Thing 2 in a Mommy and Me gymnastics class this year. She absolutely LOVES it!! She calls is "nastics" and one mention of it helps her get ready in a blink of an eye. Here are a few pictures of her in the backwards bungee. I wanted to take a little video of her but the battery was on the verge of dying, which it seems to me is more often then not. I really should pay attention to it and recharge it more so I can capture more of they girls' childhood. They really are growing up too fast.

Christmas Village

We went with the residents' spouses to see the Christmas Village in downtown Ogden. Linds was with the girls and I and it was COLD!! I think it is a little more fun when it isn't so bitter cold. The kids still had fun seeing the houses and meeting Mrs. Clause. I don't have a picture of Thing 2 with her because she fell asleep during our tour. I don't have any pictures of the girls with Santa this year either. That is because I didn't actually take the girls to see him this year. They did sit on his lap and all but I was never there, nor was B.

Sisters having fun

This fall was so beautiful. I was sad when it finally had to come to an end, but at least there is next year to look forward to and hope for similar weather. We were able to keep the hammock up longer this year and the girls love to swing in it. There were many days I would find B taking a nap on it. I hope our next house will have trees close enough to put it up again. If not we will have to get a stand for it. I love warm fall afternoons.

Haloween Night

This year getting Thing 1 to get dressed and out the door to go trick or treating was like pulling teeth. SERIOUSLY, what the heck!!? Thing 2 was Raggedy Ann and Thing 1 was still Little Miss Muffet. B took the tow of them and I stayed home to pass out candy. Thing 2 wasn't able to keep her wig on but still looked as cute as can be. They both did, despite Thing 1's funny face in the picture. Thing 2 was so tired (and dirty) she quickly fell asleep and B had to carry her around the rest of the evening. I was glad that once they got going Thing 1 had a fun time.

Halloween Party

B was able to come with us to Dr. Arbogast's annual Halloween party this year. This year it was a blast. While last year's was freezing cold and snowy this year's was warm and sunny and absolutely perfect. I do have to say even with the cold last year we really enjoyed it though. The girls enjoyed riding on his daughter's pony and playing with their beautiful dog(which is the breed that Baloo was SUPPOSED to be). Plus, who doesn't like to pet a mammoth sheep or super friendly goat? Since we had already carved pumpkins (there aren't any pictures because the camera battery was still out for the count) we opted out of that, but the girls did enjoy playing outside though. These are the some of the things I will miss when we leave UT.

Gardner Village 2009

The girls really do enjoy coming here. Thing 2 was a bit unsure about the witches though. I thought it was hilarious to watch her look at them and then back away with such a disapproving look on her face. I love the stores there too, while I think they are a bit pricey, I love all the little things they have. It is one place I usually just window shop. It requires large amounts of willpower at times.

For Sale

These are both in the same room. In the bottom picture you can see we use that half as a sewing center and an exercise room, while the rest of the room is large enough for our washer and dryer. There is still room to spare. The washer and dryer can also be included.

This is part of the downstairs living room/ playroom. The half you see is the living room while the other side is just as big where we keep the kids' toys. In this room there is a large storage closet that goes the entire length of one wall. It is perfect for storing toys or food storage or whatever else anyone wants to store.
The upstairs living room that is wired for surround sound, the glass door leads to the large deck outside. It is great for parties.
The kitchen with the newer alder wood cabinets and counters. The appliances are all newer as well. The fridge can be included, of course the rest of the appliances stay, including the built in microwave.
The upstairs bathroom with a linen closet.
The downstairs bathroom.
One of the bedrooms upstairs.
Another bedroom upstairs.
Fourth bedroom downstairs. This room has a lot of space. There is a desk in the corner where I am standing. It is on the same wall as the closet and there are also built in shelves and a cabinet on that same wall.
Our bedroom

We have listed our home for sale. So far it is just on KSL.com. We are going to try and sell it ourselves and it doesn't work come the middle of March then we will go with an agent. SO if you know anyone moving to Ogden area and they want to buy a home, have them come take a look at ours. We will be willing to work with any buyer's agent as well.
