Fun at RC Willey

The other day I took the girls to RC Willey to look at couches and headboards and stuff for the new house. When we arrived we noticed a sign saying to bring your kids in to meet Sponge Bob and Dora from 2 to sometime. Low and behold we arrived just before 2. So while it was a bust on furniture we lucked out meeting a few cartoon characters, having our picture taken and getting a few goodies all for FREE! The girls were very willing to go shopping after having a little fun of their own. I was glad I didn't have to pay for it.

A four wheeling we will go

Look at the smiles on their faces.

The last day we in Reno, Papa took the girls four-wheeling out behind their house where there is land to roam on . He let Thing 1 drive on the way back. She really enjoyed herself while Thing 2  not so much. Papa kept asking her if she was OK and her answer was,"NO, I'M NOT OK!" She is so funny. I love it.

Ladybugs in Tahoe

We went up to Tahoe for dinner and then went to the beach afterward to play. There were ladybugs ALL over. I have never seen so many ladybugs. The kids enjoyed themselves in the sand and water and I have no idea why Thing 1 isn't in any of the pictures. I promise she was there.

Kindergarten Graduation

Thing 1 and Melissa, her reading group leader.
Thing 1 and her best little buddies. Emma is in the top picture and Erika is in the bottom.

Thing 1 and her teacher Mrs. Cravens. She was so good with her.

Thing 1 finished kindergarten. They had this little graduation ceremony for her, unfortunately it was in the morning and B couldn't go. While, Thing 1 was excited for her graduation, I really didn't care. I know, not the best for a parent. The thing was I kind of felt like Mr. Incredible from the Incredibles, when he is talking about his son's fourth grade graduation. It is just another way to celebrate mediocrity. I mean really it is just kindergarten. So in I went with low expectations, thinking I was going to watch them get their certificate and eat two cookies and then go home. It was SO MUCH BETTER then that. They sang songs and each had speaking parts and were adorable. I admit it I was a little emotional during the program. I sure love this girl. She was great, sang all the songs, spoke clearly for her part and all around is an amazing little girl. I am truly blessed to have her as mine.

Tiny Gymnast

Thing 2 had a Mommy and Me gymnastics class this year. She really excelled in it too, as much as a two year old can excel. Her entire class was pretty good actually (though she was totally the best)! They were good enough we decided to do a little Olympics program for them. Thing 2 was so proud of herself. Unfortunately, her coach is right in front of her in the class picture, still...that was the best one of her class.

Hiking

We went on a fun little hike with all of the kids. They were such troopers. At the top there was a waterfall and the water was FREEZING! Thing 2 loved playing in the sand and Thing 1 ran in and out of the water. Only B and his siblings were "smart" enough to stand in the water long enough to get a picture. While they are all smiles in the picture, if you look close you can see the pain. On the way back down, Thing 2 fell asleep on her daddy's shoulders. My little girls are so cute.

Zions Camping Trip

B's super hairdo.
Our baby girl hangin' by the campfire.
Thing 1 enjoying herself.
GOOD MORNING!! Pancakes, bacon, eggs, anyone?

The second part of our family trip was in Zions park with B's side of the family. It was SO much fun. We camped one night at the park and spent the rest of the time in St. George. I love B's family. Good people. There were caterpillars EVERYWHERE!! The kids were completely enthralled with them. We even saw a few turkeys in the morning. They just walked through camp like they owned the place. OK, so they totally do!

Reading Hour in Vegas

While in Vegas, we happened on this reading hour program that they do every week. The girls had so much fun. They got to meet Blue from Blue's clues. While Thing 2 was very excited to meet the giant blue dog, Thing 1 came over and said, "it is just a person in a suit." It was a little bit of a sad day for me. A piece of that magical part of being a kid is slipping away for her.

First tooth

I know I know! This picture isn't the best, BUT I still had to document it. Thing 1 lost her first tooth. No, she never had that little gap where the one fell out waiting for the other one to come in. The back tooth came in behind the loose tooth and eventually pushed it out. She has another tooth poking out from behind the second tooth that will fall out...one day in the future. It has even made the second loose tooth crooked.

Bellagio's Garden room

For one of our family vacations we went to Vegas for a few days. While we were there we took the girls to Bellagio to see the garden room and see what they had there to amaze us with. Needless to say we were not disappointed. I love that place, giant butterflies with wings that move. Larger then life frogs, ladybugs, snails and bumble bees made from flowers all around amazing scenery. It is so cool and the girls LOVED IT!!

This is what happens

when a two year old dresses herself. The tutu is part of a pj outfit and her shirt is on backwards. Thing 2 was super proud of herself and how can I not love that little smile and let her run around in it.

Family

My parents are great! The kids love them and they are always a great help. Thing 1 wanted us to take a picture of all of us. B was at work so this is the best we got.

Fixin' the rockin' chair

My parents were out here helping us move and my rocking chair totally broke. It had been creaking forever, LITERALLY FOREVER!!! We were finally able to see WHY it was creaking when it broke. Papa pulled out the drill and fixed it. Needless to say he had two very interested spectators. I like how they both put their hands on their hips, I think they get that from mimicking me.

Old habits die hard

Sleepy has been up to her old habits again. I think she will love our new place, seeing how there is a huge field behind our home. No doubt there are mice and snakes in it as well. At least enough to keep her busy and entertained. One weekend she brought me several snakes usually within minutes. I believe that they were the same ones she brought me last year. They looked like the same type just bigger. She keeps them on their toes. Truth is she keeps me on my toes too, especially since she brought one of the snakes into the house and I found it in the hall. Sleepy was guarding it but still it was IN my house.

Monkeys

My two little girls LOVED to climb the tree that was in the front yard of our last home. I would let the two go play while I left the front door open and the windows open so I could hear them playing. Thing 1 would push Thing 2 up into the little space where they could sit. They loved it. I miss the tree and the pink blossoms.
