I am a true believer in little kids having a space they can imagine and have fun and be their own- even if they have to share it with a sibling one day. When Thing 1 goes to bed at night I want her imagination to go free and be full of fun things and sweet dreams- mostly so she'll stay in bed all night. I hope that we have given that to her in her room. We finished painting Thing 1's room and I love it! It isn't a HUGE change but the difference is sure is. The yellow is just slightly brighter yet softer then the last yellow and instead of purple it was blue and the old border was of trucks and bikes and tractors- definitely boy from previous owners. Now there are butterflies all over. I bought a little packet of something from Wal-Mart that came with these soft little butterflies in it. I cut them off their string and stuck them around her room. So they are on the window curtain, on her shelf, the mirror on the other wall and all over. There are still some sticky flower, butterfly and bug things that I want to put on her wall but I have to paint stems and extras with them so I have to practice first. Needless to say I love going in her room. It is so girly but bright, vibrant, and full of life just like our little Thing 1.

DINOSAURS
I think they may have a future doing low budget horror movies. What do you think?

While Mary Ellen and Yumna were here we went to see the dinosaur park here in Ogden. I love seeing little kids imaginations at work. The girls thought the dinosaurs are real, esp. the ones that moved and growled. The ones out in the park are still life but then the park has speakers with dinosaur noises going throughout the it so every once and a while they would scream and cover their ears as if they were going to be attacked. It was fun to see the girls enjoying themselves so much.

Best Friends are the Best
We had some visitors this past weekend. A friend of mine from Boise came down with her little girl, Yumna. Thing 1 and her are best friends and are so cute playing together
This is the two being pulled around like the little princesses they are.

Sad Sad day with our puppy Baloo
So Baloo is getting his big boy teeth and now he thinks he is a big boy and can do as he pleases.( I wish baby teeth came in as fast as his teeth are coming in; each tooth takes three days to come in. )We haven't worried about him going down stairs where we keep the majority of Thing 1's toys because he was afraid to go down there (he was a bit more clumsy a month or so ago and always fell on our porch ones, so I think that the full flight of stairs was too much for him to master) but now... he can go downstairs. So we have to keep the kitchen door closed. Sad sad day.

Not only does he think he can go downstairs, he thinks the chairs are his too. So just when I think I have him trained he surprises me with something else. I have to keep reminding myself he is only 4 1/2 months old and this will probably go on till he is 2. At least he is learning and I still think he is a beautiful dog. Good thing too otherwise he probably would have died when I found him standing on my dining room table- all four feet, eating Thing 1's food. I have never seen a dog try and get down so fast in my life. (Can you see his polka dotted belly, he is actually polka dotted all over.)

OUR LITTLE GOYLE
I know I know not the best picture. I am afraid to put in the scanner and have it melt it. But we are having a goyle. We went to the doctor and had our "Big" ultrasound. The dr. said we are having a "goyle." Of course Thing 1 heard it and perked right up, asking, "IT"S A GOYLE?" We were excited to see that everything is alright and so far she looks beautiful with a cute little button nose. Now the fun begins; picking out names, nursery ideas, little girl clothes, etc, etc.
Thing 1 is slowly but surely coming around it her baby brother being a baby sister. I have to say that I am so glad to live in today's world of technology. It is amazing what we can do.

Kick Those Legs, Baby!
We decided it was time for Thing 1 to learn how to swim. So we looked around and found just the place. It is a dive shop with an indoor pool and well... I just love dive shops. She is in her own class and enjoys working with her teacher. She is picking up the basics so fast and I am excited to see her swimming sooner then later.
After a hard days work our little princess takes a break. Still holding the bag of chips the dive shop owner gave her. He gives her something fun after every lesson. Thing 1 loves it there. I love seeing her all tuckered out.

TA DA
So last week when B was on call and I got antsy to do something in our house. We had talked about about painting the kitchen green and had decided on a color but he didn't know when I actually wanted to do it. So I decided to surprise him and paint. Thing 1 helped me with it too. I was surprised that I was able to actually get it done before he came home. We were at church when he got home so I wasn't sure how he would react. When he got to church I was glad to find out he liked it because it turned out a little bit brighter then I had anticipated. Once we finish the rest of the detail work in the kitchen it should look great. We are going to change the baseboards and door and paint them bright white as well redo the ceiling after we put new light fixtures in. Who knows when we will get around to that; but for now it actually looks pretty good. At least we think so.
Take me out to the ball game
Once a month the Weber County Medical Family Association does something for the doctors in the valley and their families. This month they gave us tickets to the Raptors game. It was so much fun! We were in the shade and had a great view of the field and of Ogden. Although a few times I was nervous we were going to be hit by the balls that came flying backwards, I guess that is what you get at a minor league baseball game. Thing 1 really got into it by the end and was shouting with the best of them. Although she does still call baseball soccer. The best part... B was post call that day so he could go with us. Thing 1 sure loves her daddy, just look at that little face of hers.

Tut Tut it looks like rain
Thing 1 LOVES LOVES LUUUUVES Winnie the Pooh. I think her favorite Pooh story is when Pooh tries to become a little rain cloud to try and get at a swarm of bees' honey. The best part is when he sends Christopher Robin to get an umbrella and walk below saying,"Tut tut it looks like rain."
She will get her little play umbrella and walk around saying the same thing. I love seeing her imagination at work.

Own sense of style
The Beast Master
So we are training our little Baloo to not be a BIG pain in the bum. We go to obedience class every week and are seeing progress- hallelujah!! We have Thing 1 work with him too, that way he knows he is on the bottom of the totem pole and not the second from the bottom. He likes to stalk her, seriously, as if she is his prey. (Maybe that is really why she says Kill the Beast!) They are working on "sit." She is wearing her ballet outfit because she wanted to dance this morning and practice her "twirls." She made me think of a circus character. I love this kid. She is such a hoot. So much personality.

Beauty and the Beast
Thing 1 loved the short musical at Disney about Beauty and the Beast. However, when she sees Baloo playing rough she will often shout, "KILL THE BEAST!" i have to remind her that he is not a beast and that we most definitely should NOT kill him. Anyways I thought I could add a few pictures of Thing 1's "Beast." He is getting so much bigger all the time. He will soon be bigger then Thing 1 and is definetly
stronger then she is now.

B's Birthday
Gone Fishin'
There is a trout farm a few miles from our home. Our play group went to catch some fish. They give you a fishing pole and it has this little nasty cube on the tip of the hook that somewhat resembles their food. Then you just stick it in one of the ponds and the fish bite. The fish bite pretty fast but if you want to hurry it up even more, then you spend a whopping .25$ and buy a cup of fish food, stick your pole in the water, dump a handful of food in and watch the fish swarm, one is sure to bite your pole in the madness.
It took Thing 1 a moment to get used to the idea but then she wanted to keep on fishing. Needless to say we went home with enough fish to feed us all dinner for a few nights. Thing 1 picked out her own outfit, in case any one was wondering.
That night Thing 1 and her daddy cooked the fish and we all enjoyed. As we were eating Thing 1 said, "This is REALLY good!" It was super cute and B and I both chuckled.
