I love this man

B is one of the busiest men I know, all residents are, yet he finds time to take care of his girls, all three of us. He is a wonderful father, great husband, and not to mention a super duper docta. We all love him and the life we are creating with him.

Jungle Cat/Guard Cat

Sleepy thinks she is a jungle cat and as such she needs to hunt. Her prey of late has been snakes. Sunday afternoon Thing 1 and I came upstairs to find one of these little guys half eaten on my living room floor. Both ends were left but that was all and had we come in a few minutes later I don't know that we would have even seen any of it. As you can see the snake is just itty bitty, still creepy. She has tried for the larger ones but... I am glad she hasn't gotten a hold of one of them yet.

Another funny thing she does is growl. The other day she was sitting in my kitchen window and she growled at the post man. She has growled at the doorbell and best of all she has growled at B before she knew it was him. I can't help but laugh at this little cat who thinks she is such big stuff.

Kitty Loves

A few days ago Thing 1 and I were talking about something and then I had to go grab something. When I came back not two minutes later this is what I found. Thing 1 had crawled onto the bed and snuggled up with MoJo. As you can kind of tell from the photos Mo wasn't too thrilled but she just laid there letting Thing 1 hold her in her sleep. I helped her get out from the death hold so she wouldn't have to stay there for too long. It amazes me how quickly little kids can fall asleep.

My Little Thing 1

Thing 1 is one of the sweetest little girls I know. Yes, there are times that she makes me want to scream and pull my hair out, but over all she is a kind, tenderhearted, loving little girl. This morning I was getting some things ready and Thing 1 came running back to Thing 2's bedroom where she informed she was getting a book to read to Thing 2  Sure enough I went in a minute later and she was "reading" to Thing 2.  She was showing her the pictures and all. The book she picked out is easy for her to read because she can tell what the words are from the pictures on the pages. Otherwise she still can't really read yet. Such a sweet and thoughtful child.

just like that

And just like that the camera is back in working order. Hmmmm, what is up with that? Glad I will be able to take pictures of the family this weekend while they are visiting, also I am glad I can postpone a camera purchase just a little longer.

NAY NONNIE NOOOOOOOOOO

My camera is dead. No pictures, none, nada, zilch. WHY? I ask WHAHAHAHAAEYE. I am glad that we were able to get pictures for Thing 1's party though. I would have been so upset if I couldn't have taken pictures of the grand event. It has lived a good life. It is five years old and I have been wanting a new one, but I hate being forced to HAVE to buy anything- other then food that is.

such hard work

Falling asleep is such hard work. We have been blessed with a child that for the most part is a dream child. She is happy till she is tired or hungry. I feed her regularly so she is rarely hungry and when she starts to get tired and fussy she USUALLY goes right to bed. There are a few times though that she fights it and wants to be with us and play. The other day I went in after a minute of fussing in her crib to find her asleep like this. Cute little girl.

Our Girls

Thing 2 is truly one of the happiest babies I have ever known. She is just happy to be alive and we love her so.

Thing 1 is a whirlwind of fun. She is sweet and cuddly and spunky and sassy and wild and crazy all rolled into one with beautiful green eyes and blonde hair. She has my temper and her dad's sense of humor. She is a handful but I like it. I like knowing she doesn't take crap from anyone. Although at times she makes me want to scream. As different as my two girls are I wouldn't have it any other way.

A Plethora of Princesses

I had been thinking what to do for Thing 1's fourth birthday party for some time and while back I had seen a princess party on Cat's web site. Her daughter had gone all decked out in princess attire and did all these girly things and I thought, "hey now that would be great." So that is what we did for Thing 1's fourth birthday party. Even though Thing 1 owns several different princess dresses we bought her a new Mariposa dress for the party. I figured the birthday girl should have a dress that stands out from the rest.

This is Thing 1 and one of her favorite friends, Angelle.

Thing 1 and her princess cake.
Here she is showing off her new bling bling.
Some of the activities were, reading the princess and the pea and then seeing if these little girls were "real Princesses" and if they could feel the pea(tennis ball) under different pillows. Then they got to sit in the throne and have their nails done and be crowned with the royal jewels.
When they first arrived we decorated their crowns. My parents came down for her party which Thing 1 loved having her Nana and Papa their.

Thing 1 and I painted our "prince" but unfortunately a mean witch had turned him into a frog and so the girls had to pin a kiss on the frog to turn him back into a real prince. After "kissing" the frog they got a handful of Hershey kisses.
Here are some more of the little princesses.

All in all the girls had fun and Thing 1 loved it, which is what was important.

24th of July

With Thing 1's brithday so close to the 24th of July and being able to legally do fireworks 3 days before and after the 4th and 24th we can do fireworks for her birthday, or pretty close to it anyways. I like the socks and shoes with her nightgown. It is a pretty snazzy look.

The birthday girl

Thing 1 turned four last month. We usually have a family party and then a friend party as well. So on her birthday I made her a cake and she asked if she could help decorate it. Being her birthday, I couldn't really say no. She picked the colors and the design of the cake.

She wanted a rainbow and a tree with clouds in the sky and flowers. So this is what she got. Mind you she helped with a lot of the decorating.
B was supposed to have a fairly busy day but some things got canceled so he came home for an afternoon cake break. It worked out perfect. This way we didn't have to wait too long to open some of her gifts and once B came home we went to the movie without any problems.
This next picture is awesome. A picture says a thousand words.

We have been blessed with such sweet little girls. I tell you life here is great. Even when it isn't it still is. This is Thing 1 loving on one of her gifts from Nana and Papa. Later that evening we took her to see Kung Foo Panda. She had been asking to see this movie for over a month. She had such a great time. When we got home she cried, I have had such a fun day, Mom, I don't want my birthday to end.

The Joys of Eating and Bathing

For the most part Thing 2 is content to let me feed her. There are days though she just wants to play with her food. I let Thing 1 do this and don't think I can deny Ms. Thing 2 the same joy of squishing her food in her fingers and getting it all over. Besides, afterward she gets to take a bath. She loves sitting in the sink and playing in the water. She makes such a mess, but is so happy. How can I turn disappoint those big baby blues?

my little garden nymph

My little Thing 1 and her little crown of flowers. She loved the idea of getting to wear these flowers on her head. She is such a sweet little girl and a wonderful blessing in our lives.

Peeky BOO and Hide and Seek

One of Thing 1's favorite games is hide and seek and one of Thing 2's is peek a boo. So we try and incorporate the two together. B and I each take one and we play hide and seek till Thing 2 spots the other one. Once she sees you we yell, Peeky BOO!" You can see what happens in the pictures once she spots someone. I say, she is an easy one to love. How can that little face of hers not make your day.
