Our View

I'm not sure why this was taken through the screen door, but it will have to do until next summer when I can take another to replace it. Our backyard meets up to the tall grass. Our yard is wider then it is deep. I hope that the owner of the property we back up to doesn't sell it until we can afford to buy a little more land. Granted when the time finally comes we may not want to buy any more land. I know when I mow I am tired by the end and we only have a third of an acre.
This is Mt. Timpanogas, isn't it beautiful? The picture doesn't do the sunset justice of how breathtaking it is.

I really cannot express how blessed I feel. Currently, we have one of the best views in H town. It is absolutely gorgeous!! For now we back up to fields that just keep on going. We have friends that live two fields over and they have this magnificent barn. It is so nice I truly thought it was a restaurant when I first saw it. I am very glad that I found out it was someone's private residence before trekking over and thoroughly embarassing ourselves! It is all so pretty, every morning I feel as if I am living inside of a painting. There is just so much beauty all around.

Morning Visitors

During the summer and even into the fall there are a few companies that give hot air balloon rides. We don't live very far from the local airport and I believe that is where the start their journeys. We can actually see the airport from our backyard. It is group of white buildings off in the distance in the second picture. In the third picture you can see they fly over our neighborhood. This occurrence is almost daily. We hear the blast from the balloon and run outside to take a peek. While we have never had any close calls they have actually hit the side of a neighbor's home once. So they really do get close. They have also landed in front of next door neighbor's driveway, unfortunately, it was before we moved in. (Maybe next year though) While I know one day the field behind our backyard will be homes and then two fields behind it will be businesses. I hope it isn't for a LONG time because I am REALLY loving where we live and the cool things we can see so easily.

The cone of Shame

The girls and I went on a trip and when we came back I noticed MoJo had a tender spot on her back. It appears that she got in a cat fight and was bitten on her back that became infected. Since she was unable to leave her drain alone she was forced to wear the cone of shame. It was HILARIOUS!!! Both B and I felt so bad for her. When she walked around she would drag it along the ground and so we always knew where she was because we could hear her scrape the floor. When she would get to carpet she would get the bottom lip stuck on the floor and have to readjust. It was so pitiful!!!! I think the week she had to wear that thing was one of the longest weeks ever.

A trip to the zoo

While Thing 1 was in kindergarten her class took a trip to the zoo and I went along and bought a season pass. Sine then we have been able to visit every now and then. Even though we see the same things every time it is always a new adventure. Unfortunately, I haven't taken many pictures during our visits. The best part is that dad now has time to come WITH US!!!! In this picture the girls are sitting on the nose of an elephant statue type thing. It makes noises and in the summer it sprays mists of water out of its nose. The girls love it.

Our beautiful girls

We have been incredibly blessed with beautiful children! This was one morning getting ready for church. Thing 1 was loving on her little Furr Real Pet she got from her grandparents. While they are both VERY different they are both so beautiful and have the greatly added to our lives.

Thing 1 turns *6*!!

Thing 1's birthday breakfast. She chose pancakes, eggs and bacon. The girls love being able to eat in bed.
Thing 1 and some of her buddies from Ogden. We had lunch and let the kids play on the new playground outside and since our home was new to everyone we just let them explore and have fun.

I know I say this often but I really can't believe how quickly our children are growing up. For Thing 1's sixth birthday we did a really low key birthday party for her. Have no fear she didn't miss out at all. In fact, she said she liked this birthday more then the one we had for her with the clown, train ride, games and so on. After her breakfast in bed we got ready for our friends to come and play. Since it almost always seems like no matter how much I plan for the kids to do they just want to run around and play, so that is what we did this year. When we bought our home it came with this fantastic playhouse/swing set play area. So they all enjoyed exploring the new toy. While I can see that she had a simple double layer cake I could have sworn I did a tide eyed cake for her. I think we ate it with family, but since we have moved here I have been really bad at taking pictures. Oh well, at least she had a cake.

Vinatage Cupcakes

Before leaving Ogden I took the girls to this darling little place called Vintage cupcakes. The owner has done a fabulous job in decorating and well the cupcakes are pretty tasty as well. Thing 2 fell asleep before she could enjoy her treat with us, but no worries we took some home for her and daddy to enjoy.
