Thoughts from a three year old

Thing 1 says the funniest things. I really feel that I should keep a little log of them so here it will be. That way when she is grown up we can look back and laugh at what she used to say.

-first I love the way she says yellow- "lellow"and yogurt- "logrit" the best part is that she says yes and other "y" words just fine.

-we have a plethora of box elder bugs around our home. She saw two mating and she asked why their bums were stuck together. Not wanting to go that route just yet I avoided the question and said they just are. A week or so later, she came up with her own answer. She told me, "Mom, I know why the bugs' bums stick together. They have magnets in them. That way they can click together."  I told her well there you go, magnetic bums.

-we live about 1/2 mile from Wal-Mart. The other day after we went shopping there and Thing 1 told me she was tired. When we got into the car she told me she wanted to shut her eyes for just a minute. Trying to keep her awake I told her I would miss her while she was asleep. She laughed and said, silly mommy, I'll wake back up. I'll go to sleep and then I'll wake up. That's how it works. You go to sleep and then you wake up. By this point we were half way home and she still managed to fall asleep before we pulled in the drive way.

Aren't 3 year olds great? Kate says yogrit. Glad to know that she's on the same 3 year old track. Keep those comments coming. You'll be glad you did!
